Contract Management Amidst Rapid Growth

Problem

The specialty pharmaceutical division of a multinational consumer goods company was facing a heavy commercial contract workload and had no subject matter expert (SME) in place that could tackle the work. With their business growing rapidly, they needed interim support with experience in the life science space to handle day-to-day contracts and clinical trial agreements.


Objective(s)

The Chief Legal Officer of the specialty pharmaceutical division was referred to JURISolutions® Legal (JSL) by one of JSL’s happy clients. The Chief Legal Officer explained the division’s need to JSL and asked them to identify an attorney with strong contracts and life science experience. The attorney would be able to work remotely, but needed to be available right away.


Solution

JSL presented the Chief Legal Officer with an experienced contracts attorney that seamlessly integrated with the specialty pharmaceutical division’s existing legal team and helped the specialty pharmaceutical division strategically grow their business.


Outcome

The specialty pharmaceutical division was spun off by the multinational consumer goods company and became a separate specialty pharmaceutical company. Because of the success of JSL’s first project with the specialty pharmaceutical division, JSL was brought into the new specialty pharmaceutical company’s strategy meetings and ultimately helped build out their legal department with a number of full-time hires. In addition to the full-time hires, JSL continued to provide them with interim support for specialty projects as well.
